Which is better b18 or h22

Yes use the search function, and probably best to use your brain. Basically based on the same platform, B18C is 1. Shit people calm down,i mean honda to another honda driver, have some respect, derr B18 is 1. Asking too many questions mate. As above stated. In this case. The question your asking has too many answers. Chassis, engine, mods, tune, ecu, driver, weight, tyres, gearbox, they all have a role in this "straight line" contest. If youre talking about a dc2 vtir vs a bb6 prelude.

Both engines are designed differently. H22a isnt a bad engine. But the B series engines were designed better i guess. And plus, the market has more support for the b series. As for mods. Its all about expenses too. H22 is heavier by probably 30kg quote dyno dave in some other thread What really matters are the cars your going to swap the engines in.

Each engine has its different performance, it depends on what your going for. Every engine can be mod to be fast, but the lighter your car the faster. Your own taste bud. Mod the way you want. Any Honda car can go fast depending what you do to the engine. An eg civic with a stock b18c7 conversion will beat a eg civic with a stock h22a conversion They have the same power, Ye the h22a has more torque on paper, but the factory gear ratios and final drive ratio are far from perfect on the h22a, compared to the b18c7 close ratio gearbox with a 4.

This would help even out the torque field a little bit Also guys, you gotta take into consideration that you will be able to find more parts for the b18 than the h B18cr ftw :D. Many opinions Both good motors.

I have a stock H22a red top, which has very nice torque, lots of vtec kick, and sounds a bit less feral, and more refined than the b-series. Very much preferred for simple driving around town. It certainly has the torque to do so. NA tuning - there are many more parts avail, more manufacturers for B series, also more competition, so it's cheaper.

Modding an H series is a bit limited, but the bits are there to be located. No problem! Click to expand TheBlur New Member. Preference and budget is gonna be what decides your motor. You'd have to specify what B The ITR and CTR motors are the cream of the crop of the B18 series, high output and decent torque and have a High Redline, however, as them domestics say, there is no replacement for displacement.

TheBlur said:. I don't think so. Try at the crank, so more like horses to the wheels BrutalB83 said:. If you factor in the cost of mounts, plus either modifying the shifter tunnel to accept the H22's transmission or buying an adaptor plate to make a B-series transmission work, then the H22 really isn't cheaper then any other swap. In fact, it may end up being MORE expensive How is it easier to make big horse and torque on an H over the B-series engines?

The B-series engines are pretty stout. They can typically stand up to boost better then the H22 with it's FRM sleeves I dont usually do this kinda shit, but I'm gonna since you seem to have been butt hurt by brutal.

He actually sited the biggest reason to go with the B-Series over the H. The fucking sleeves on an H22 are shit. Your knowledge is appreciated on this forum, but don't get your panties in a wad when someone corrects you. We're trying to provide accurate information on this forum, and it's Brutal's job to correct you exactly like he did.

Just retain the information and use it again if you'd like to answer someone else's question. You've apparently missed anything I'm trying to say and taken everything you've ever read for some under informed ignoramus as gospel. Which do you think is stronger? Which do you think generates less friction? If you get the answer to the above question, you'll stop spouting the fact that the FRM sleeves are stronger than Iron Sleeves.

Fun Fact: H22's sit tilted back. Although you cannot see it from a frontal view, becaues the valve covers are designed to compensate for the tilt; Look at an h22 from the side, and watch how the lower half of the valve cover slopes down towards the firewall as with the rest of the motor. B18c5 is a good choice BUT if only if your gonna leave it stock. IF not then get a gsr motor which only cost somewhere in between I'm sure you can get it cheaper than that if you just keep looking.
