Fatigue got to about seconds. So basically it's benefits are the same as the druids flight form except it has the added bonus of being usable during combat I wouldn't be too surprised if this changed in a future patch. Comment by Ok, so i've done over quests in Hyjal, over 75 in Deepholm and Uldam each but I still can't get the Vashir quests.
Update: Ah I went back to all the quest givers in the quest line and must have deleted the quest call of duty locaten SE of Org near the dock. Comment by Vath If it hasn't been said yet, Silver Tide Hollow in the Shimmering Expanse appears to be the first "inn" that grants rested xp. I noticed a lot of hearth locations didn't come with rested xp bonus, a pain in attempting to make leveling faster.
Comment by cmeierd If you're someone who wants to make the most of your rest xp, then Vashj'ir is probably not the best place to go. The first place you can start getting any rest xp back Tide Hollow in the Shimmering Expanse is about an hour or two into the questing experience - maybe less if you're quick, but probably much, much, more if you're reading all the quest text.
Spatially It can also be a bit frustrating at times, but despite it's hangups it can still be a very fun and unique zone with some cool lore.
If nothing else I'd recommend going through it once to see how they dealt with the gameplay mechanics. Comment by This place is pretty fun including the fact that you get a sea horse and its underwater. But it can also be really aggravating , the fact that you have to go one place to another , back and forth. And the most annoying of all , you have to fly with your mount back to Eastern Kingdoms until you get the FP on land. Besides all that , this place is ok and pretty fun.
Happy hunting! Comment by gemanoma Here is where born lady gaga xDDD. Comment by Muzzle The place can be kind've annoying especially the first couple quests because unlike most places besides flying monsters the monster are all around you. Comment by It's like a mini-underwater Outland. Comment by I have to admit blizzard has outdone themselfs with this zone.
I loved every part of it even the lore part and I aint really that interested in lore. In this zone I like to add aquatic ambience themes of various games I've already played while questing. Edit: Fixed broken links.
Comment by Somebody knows if i can get here whit a 73 character? A S Warchief's Command: Vashj'ir! Dah, Nunt In My Gut? Quests above are NOT needed for it. Comment by Alliance flight master for points on the mainland is on an island above water in Shimmering Grotto almost exactly one "Grotto" 's length northeast from the g in Shimmering, at least on my carbonite. Horde is nearby on same island. Comment by Bsmx93 If you're a druid, you can make use of Aquatic Form , if glyphed properly it will go as fast as or faster, can't remember the Sea Horse mount.
Not only that, it's instant cast AND usable in combat. So the druid's mobility in this zone is extremely smooth. Comment by Lucilite Question: how I could I get to Vash'jir on a toon that is not high level enough to get the starting quests for it 80? A couple months ago I saw that a friend of mine was in the zone, and her toon lvl was in the mid's at that time. There was another friend of ours who was "escorting" her around with his lvl 85 toon probably with a passenger mount like a mammoth or equivalent, but IDK.
But clearly, it can be done. Is there any method of transportation from any place that a less-than toon can use to travel from the mainland to the Vash'jir continent on their own?
Or if it can only be done by being brought there by a higher lvl toon, then how? Portal in SW while in a group? A boat from SW or TH while riding on friend's mammoth? There are conflicting reports of what quests are needed for the item to drop. This is also a good time to kill Gilblingle for waterlogged journal which starts Blackfin's Booty. The immediate pre-requisite for these quests is Across the great Divide which starts in Kelp'thar Forest. The immediate pre-requisite to this chain is Full Circle from Shimmering Expanse.
Comment by Enkilah The music in this zone completely transformed my thoughts about the naga. Comment by Ressolute I just leveled my warlock from and it was hell. Last time Im ever going there. Comment by Morgaledh Where is the damn healing plate in the Vashj'ir quests? It's all either shammy or ret pally stats.
To use this stuff we have to wear chain, and lose our specialization. Comment by This place is horrid! I'm an 85 trying to get the achieve and I'm stuck at 92 quests out of I cant get quests to show up anywhere. I've explored this whole place!
Comment by Deathbang Vash'jir: You either love it, hate it, or drowned and have no opinion on the matter. Comment by Is'nt it time that this zone comes available at lvl 78? Maybe thise zone will be actualy usefull then. Comment by Lornaworgen Is anyone able to tell me where Deepmist Grotto is please?
I can't seem to find it and I need it for the handful of treats by the end of tomorrow. Comment by Rizzu I had leveled horde-side to 85 completely avoiding Vashj'ir and could not reach the zone due to the call board not having the quest anymore.
He will give you the Call of Duty quest and the Mercenary Ship will appear outside immediately. Comment by Suullath Very helpfull, had the same issue and was about to launch a ticket, thx very much. Comment by Soeroah Good thing the races of Azeroth are resistant to water pressure.
Comment by Finalyzer are there different ways to get there? Comment by dc1brewer Getting into one of the Swift Seahorse grottos to find the Seahorse Master is an obscure thing since the underwater entrances to the grottos are a ways away from the coordinate of the Seahorse Master and down at the bottom of a trench nearby. Here's some help if you are trying to swim down to enter the grottos.
Silvertide Hollow Map coordinate Note that to get the mercenary boat to appear, you need to go the end of the dock and listen to an ENTIRE dialog by the soldiers there - you probably should not be mounted while listening.
If for some reason the mercenary ship doesn't appear at the end of the dock in SW note - the mercenary ship is NOT the Kraken , it's best to fly to Vashj'ir from Dun Morogh. If you have the Hero's Call quest but can't get the mercenary boat, you are flying to Vashj'ir to turn in to Erunak Stonespeaker down inside the hull of the ship at Comment by A interesting Zone to say the least, kinda confusing at first with the caves hidden so well. Got lost a few times looking for them but after a while you get used to cave X being beside bunch of plants Q.
If you know exactly which quest unlocks the portal, leave a comment! Comment by lunayah Pretty good place for skinners since a lot the skinnable mobs there aren't hostile. Another thing which is totally unrelated, druids look like their on the moon when they run on the seafloor here in cat form or bear form, I haven't tested it in tree form and moonkin form yet though.
Comment by rawryer If you happen to fly directly above nespirah, the turtle shell has a special glowing effect, very cool stuff :. Before day one was over I thought this place was the biggest pile of dung I had ever experienced. The re-spawns were so fast you could not loot before they popped back and the aggro distances were longer than I thought was decent. In hindsight I think that the re-spawn thing was purely a matter of too many people in the zone at one time and no longer applies.
As to the aggro distance I can't say as I can't take an 80 or lower into the zone to test. For that matter that might have been the result of too many people in the zone as well. They put a lot of effort into the zone and it shows. And as others have mentioned the herbing and skinning are superb.
I just wish the Sea Horse you get was usable elsewhere. Comment by Just1Micky There is mistake in the description. The name of the Zone is stated correctly Vashj'ir , whereas the first mention in the description mentions it as 'Vash'jir', furthermore the last word of the first sentence in the third paragraph also makes this mistake, along with the last word of the last paragraph. Due to the consistency of this mistake occuring on all typed references within the description I would say that the author misread the name, which is rather foolish considering the reference to Lady Vashj in the article itself.
Comment by People are still getting lost trying to leave Vashj'ir, so just to clarify the directions If your hearthstone is set to Vashj'ir and you don't know how to get out: In Kelp'thar Forest swim to The Clutch in the south region and swim to the surface.
On the map you will see to the west the Shimmering Expanse. It has an upside-down U-shaped mountain range. There you will find a beach with Alliance to the north and Horde to the south. Both have flight paths that can fly you to the Eastern Kingdoms. As for getting back in if you're not herthed to Vashj'ir: after the initial quest and boat ride in There are portals by the Earthen Ring Circles in Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
Comment by ttbloodlusttt So, if you thought 'Oh, I'm gonna go quest in Vashj'ir! I did this and couldn't find where the heck to go. I flew over to Vashj'ir and looked around in the quest hubs and wasted about fifteen minutes going 'Holy hell I'm really confused!
That means you actually abandoned the quest to actually TAKE the boat. That quest you can get from Recruiter Burns. He is standing on the right before you run onto the dock that normally takes you to Northrend.
You will know this is it if he has an exclamation mark on his head and gives you 'Call to Arms. Comment by cephadex Haven't seen such a beautiful zone since old Ashenvale. Shame the dynamics make it a frustrating place to quest and move around in, I imagine if I were into RPing in WoW it would be here.
It's extremely irritating to say the least. Then i would think its a bug if there is no quests. I thought u asked how to get to vashjir with chromie time and i dont think the cataclysm chromie starts with vashjir, it starts with EK zones and then u go to vashjir at a higher level. When i picked cata on an alt i got to choose between 3 old zones from the callboard, i dont remember which zones it was though.
I just got the in-game response. Stood in the lowest level close to the sea. So it could have been during the beta and then Blizz changed it later on? Or am I just way wrong here? The music and ambience added to the feel of this zone. Anyone else no longer able to swim this zone without dying from drowning? I did this area in cata, but when I came back just recently to check out the area and reminisce, I drown now.
And I dont have the quest mount anymore. Playing 8. Appreciate it! Very helpful, needed to get there for the Flame Keeper achievements and had only done this on Alliance side for some reason. I loved this zone. They could still keep us on the ground, lower the gravity and have us use sea mounts as quasi flying mounts.
And stop combat from happening in a radial. That would work. This is the one zone that made you feel alien. I can be doing something else and the music from the game will enter my head.
I definitely believe that there are subliminal messages in the game to make you keep thinking about the game to make you want to go back to the game and keep playing forever and ever.
Such a beautiful zone with a great soundtrack, I think what bugged me about it though was the screen warping effect of being underwater gives you a headache after a while. This place blew me away the first time!! Such out of the box gameplay thinking.
This music reminds me of all the hours I spent farming herbs on my druid in this zone. Good times indeed. Loved this zone. It was beautiful. Shimmering Expanse was perfect. Do I need to be level ? Equationix I dont need to look it up if ive played it, since these guys are doing alliance horde prob gives at lower level, im horde. One of their finest zones. It really goes to show how mysterious the sea really is. They really nailed the difficulty with depth perception imo. It made the zone more challenging and enjoyable for me.
If i could switch off the music only for the login screen i would keep it ingame, shame to miss all that. My favourite quest must be the one where you have to kill eels because, well… Eels are gross. Not even eels like eels. I had a craving for some nostalgia this morning.
Vash and the entirety of Northrend really bring me back. Like, comment, Subscribe. We talk to dude in the hut by the shore and nothing happens. Alliance players are sent to Stormwind Harbor to the northernmost dock.
With one of these quests in the quest log, players are in another phase where a mercenary ship appears instead of the normal ship to Borean Tundra. The music and atmosphere was nice. One of my best leveling experiences in wow.
I just love how you and your ship becomes a team and suddenly find yourself in the middle of a battle much greater than any of you had expected! Overtime you came to like and care about the people underwater and their stories. I remember so vividly the feeling when after being under water for so long you finally get back up to those ships. I think I even gasped for fresh air irl at that moment because I was so immersed in the game!
